swing, and classical, you’ll want to catch this outstanding, young
talented band! See why “The Doerfel Family is a force to be reckoned

The Delaney Brothers

Delaney
Brothers Bluegrass is a
central New York-based contemporary bluegrass band that has built a
widespread reputation through dedication and hard work to the
furtherance and professionalism of bluegrass music. This year,
Delaney Brothers Bluegrass celebrates 28 years of
entertaining bluegrass audiences throughout the northeastern United
States at various concerts, private parties, and bluegrass festivals.
Forming in the summer
of 1981, brothers Ray and John Delaney saw the need for a fresh local
central New York bluegrass group to promote the "New Traditionalism"
of bluegrass music through professional appearance, tight vocals, and
new and different instrumental arrangements. Since its inception, the
band has seen a lot of success on the bluegrass circuit, not the least
of which was being invited to be a Showcase Band at the 2001 Annual
IBMA Convention in Louisville, KY. They have shared the stage with Dr.
Ralph Stanley, The Seldom Scene, Alison Krauss, The Del McCoury Band,
Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, and the "Father of Bluegrass" himself,
Bill Monroe. |

Young has been a resident of Lamar, Missouri. It was after his
retirement and move to Missouri from Salt Lake City, Utah that Vern

2002 in the state of Iowa. On October 29, 2006, Vern was inducted into
the "New York State Country Music Hall of Honor" in Cortland, New
York.
Vern spent his
early years in Palmyra, N.Y. where he began playing for round and
square dances at the local Grange dance when he was 15 years old. He
says "that changed my whole life", as he had been
Upon his
retirement he was invited to entertain at a bluegrass concert at the
University of Utah, in Salt Lake. The response he received from this
event convinced Vern it was time to perform professionally once again.

Adam Dewey and Crazy Creek
http://www.adamdewey.com/index.htm
|
 |
The
resurgence in the popularity of bluegrass music started by movies like
"O Brother Where Art Thou" has brought recognition to the bands that
have been keeping the bluegrass flame alive in Boston for many years.
Chief among them is Adam Dewey and Crazy Creek. This
traditional, roots-oriented bluegrass band has been performing on the
Boston music scene since 1993.
Combining the influences of Bill Monroe, the Stanley Brothers, Flatt
and Scruggs and Boston's own Joe Val with their own musical
sensibilities, the band has developed a sound that pays homage to
tradition, breaks new ground and is, without doubt, their own. This
deep-grooved sound and the band's electric stage presence are evident
on their live recording, "Live at the Cantab", and their 1999
self-titled debut CD. They have an energetic performing style that has
entertained festival audiences in Canada and Europe as well as
throughout the Northeast.
With
their powerful trio vocals, their repertoire of gospel quartets
featuring Scruggs-style guitar and their driving instrumental styles,
Crazy Creek has developed a reputation as one of the top
bluegrass outfits in New England.
