The total amount of expenses was $3878.83.  $500.00 was for Carl Birmann reimbursement.

A motion was made by Jim Dean second by Bob Brinkman to accept the treasure’s report as read.

     Old Business:

Major engine components were sent out for inspection by Archie, and Arch reported that upon disassembly, all components looked to be in “fine” shape.  Archie and Bill reported that the whole process could have been completed faster and more efficiently if Chuck Purcell wasn’t helping.

Bill obtained quotes from a number of sources for new seat coverings.  The lowest price was $300.00 for both seats, including materials.  Jim Dean and Arch both agreed to have Bill proceed with covering the seats.

Jim had sent an e-mail to Bruce, of Nutmeg Soaring, about the 2006 season on the field.  Jim has not received a response to date.

The Cabin Fever party will be held next Saturday, February 11th, between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM at the Quarry Steak House in Coxsackie, New York. Food is paid for, just bring drinking money.

It was decided to wait on the radios until we find out what the total amount of the C150 engine could be.  We will then look into alternatives, whether to “fix” or “buy” new equipment.

     New Business:

Dave Hess and Jill Hess will make a final decision about their future membership status April 1st.

Arch reminded us to list our meeting schedules in the Atlantic Flyer magazine.

Suggestions about Web Information links:  add DUATS, Airnav.com, Richmor Weather.

Any new or updated ratings and medicals should be forwarded to Griff for documentation.

     Motion to Adjourn:

Jim Dean made a motion to adjourn, second by Mike Archambault.  The meeting adjourned at 1:10 PM.

     Respectfully submitted,

     Chris Ahlf

  • Minutes of Freehold Aviation Association Meeting

    Held January 7th, 2006

The meeting was held at Morton’s, January 7th, 2006. The meeting was called to order at 12:00 PM.

Members in attendance were: Chris Ahlf, William Alfeld, Michael Archambault, Robert Brinkman, Jim Dean, Robert Duckworth, Nancy Gertzberg, Robert Griffin, Ed Ohl, and Chuck Purcell.

Al Fidanza and Tom Albrecht also attended.

Minutes of the December 3rd meeting were read and accepted with a motion by Mike Archambault, second by Jim Dean.

    Treasurers Report:

    EXPENSES: INCOME:
    Nutmeg Gas  159.60 Billed Out
    Nutmeg Tie Down   Income
    Richmor Gas   Deposits
    Columbia Aviation   Plane Rental  105.00
    C150  113.58 Insurance Rebate  373.33
    Avemco
    Misc.  26.00 BALANCE  13,060.66

The total amount of expenses was $299.18. $26.00 was for Post Office Box Rental. The deposits consisted of November billing revenue, and a rebate from Avemco for taking the planes off line for the winter. Good thinking Bill Alfeld, Thanks.

    Old Business:

Mike reported that the C150 engine has been torn down and that parts could be ordered as early as 01-16-06. Mike and company will break the case and send out the components to Superior for magna-flux and inspection, (case halves, crankshaft, and cam shaft.). The inspection should take an average of three weeks, depending of Superior’s work load.

It was suggested that the inoperative radios be removed and repaired. Tom reminded the club that the old NavCom does not meet current FCC regulations and we should not use it in the transmit mode. Fine for listening and Nav purposes.

Bob Duckworth reminded us that it would reasonable to consider the transponder now also, but would have to go with the plane.

The letter composed to Carl Birmann was acceptable to the directors and will be sent.

Bob Duckworth, Nancy Gertzberg and Jim Dean requested an updated membership list, it will be sent.

    New Business:

Jim Dean will be looking into fund raisers, whether at Freehold, Greenville or Kline Kill.

Jim Dean will contact Bruce to discuss our occupation at Freehold Airport for the 2006 season. Nutmeg has not charged us any fees for the time we were there during the fall of 2005. We should be thankful to Nutmeg for their generosity.

Tom reported favorable comments from the Nutmeg membership about our "lack" of presence at the airport.

Nutmeg’s annual meeting to be held in CT. Jim will seek members to represent Freehold Aviation at their meeting.

Dave and Jill Hess would like to make arrangements with the club for alteration to their membership. Since Dave and Jill are members in good standing and have always been ready and willing to help with projects that have come up, we all agreed, without hesitation, to accept their offer. To assure that Dave and Jill are treated fairly, Bill Alfeld will crunch the numbers to date and make recommendations.

    Motion to Adjourn:

Bill Alfeld made a motion to adjourn, second by Chuck Purcell. The meeting adjourned at 1:40 PM.

    Respectfully submitted,

    Chris Ahlf

    Secretary
